According to the online economy report, quoting from Ferraro, Porsche has recently unveiled the new 911 GT3 RS car. Significant updates in the cooling and aerodynamic systems of this car have brought many capabilities to this car.
According to Ferraro, the new central radiator has replaced the set of three radiators of previous cars and frees up space for installing new aerodynamic elements in the car.
It is capable of producing 901 lb (409 kg) of downforce at 124 mph (200 km/h). This is twice the amount of the previous generation of this car. Porsche 911 GT3 RS is equipped with a drag reduction system. This system is used for the first time in a production Porsche.
It’s powered by a 4.0-liter flat-six engine, capable of producing 518 horsepower (386 kW) thanks to new camshafts with revised profiles that feature a single-throttle intake system derived from the sports engine.
Porsche 911 GT3 RS uses PDK 7-speed gearbox. According to the company, this new Porsche can reach 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.2 seconds. Its maximum speed is 184 mph (296 km/h). The stopping power of this car comes from six-piston front and four-piston rear brakes. The automaker has included its larger ceramic composite brake system as an added option.
20- and 21-inch forged wheels with central locking connect this car to the ground. Thanks to extensive use of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP), the car weighs just 3,268 pounds (1,482 kg). This type of plastic is used in doors, front wings and bucket seats. Porsche offers its buyers the possibility to upgrade their car to the Clubsport package at no additional cost. This is not currently available in the United States. The Clubsport package adds a steel roll bar, a six-point seat belt and a manual fire extinguisher.
This car is also offered with the Weissach package. This pack will cost extra and adds things like a carbon finish on several exterior components and more CFRP parts like front and rear anti-roll bars and a clear rear axle panel. Customers who purchase the Weissach package can also equip their car with magnesium wheels; These wheels weigh less than the original car wheels.
Three driving modes are considered for this car; Sport, Normal and Track. In Track mode, the driver can adjust the basic car settings such as front and rear axle damping and rear differential. The steering wheel has four rotary controls for individual settings and a dedicated DRS button. Porsche expects the 911 GT3 RS to arrive in US dealerships next spring. The car will cost around $22,3800 in the US, plus $1,450 for shipping costs.
