Possible specifications of Surface 5 laptop – Ryzen 7 6980U and LPDDR4X processor

Due to the Release Possible specifications of the Surface 5 laptop We will see the presence of the latest AMD and Intel processors along with a 120 Hz PixelSense Flow display for this model. The Surface Laptop 5 comes with two 13.5-inch and 15-inch screens.
The display offers a 3: 2 aspect ratio and a 1500: 1 contrast. In fact, it seems that we are on the same side with the screen of the previous version, but this time it will provide users with a 120 Hz refresh rate.
The 15-inch version uses a Core i7 1280P processor with 14 20-core cores or the Ryzen 7 6980U with 8 16-core cores. In fact, compared to the Surface Laptop 4, we see a big upgrade, especially from AMD, where the Core i7 1187G7 from the Tiger Lake U series and the Ryzen 7 4980U from the Renoir U series were previously considered.
Possible specifications of Surface Laptop 5

The 13.5-inch model will also be available with the Ryzen 5 6680U processor with 6 12-core or Core i5 1240P with 12 16-core or Core i7 1280P cores. The Surface 5 will finally support the Thunderbolt 4. The previous version used USB Type C 3.1 Gen 2 with DP 1.4 / PD support but was not officially a Thunderbolt port.
In the meantime, there is an interesting point that shows that the Ryzen 7 6980U processor supports LPDDR4X memory. Unfortunately, this custom model designed for Microsoft has not been officially unveiled yet, so we can not confirm its specifications.

All of the Ryzen 6000 silicon-based Rembrandt processors introduced so far support DDR5 or LPDDR5 memory. It is not yet clear what silicon the Ryzen 7 6980U and Ryzen 5 6680U use. It could be a custom version of Rembrandt for Microsoft, or it could be a rebranded version of Cezanne (the same as Barcelo) compatible with DDR4 and LPDDR4X.
