Powerful Iranian men’s taekwondo championship in Fajr Cup



According to IRNA, the first round of the Fajr Cup International Taekwondo Championship in the men’s group started yesterday (Friday) at the Parsian Esteghlal Hotel in Tehran and ended today.

This period of competitions with the participation of 171 taekwondo fighters from 9 countries of Iran, Armenia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Turkey, Russia, Iraq, Lebanon and India and in eight weights – 54-, 58-, 63-, 68-, 74-, 80-, 87- and 87+ kg were followed.

At the end of the international event, Iranian taekwondo fighters won eight gold medals and 1,004 points to win the cup of the oldest taekwondo tournament. Won the third title.

Teams from Afghanistan (two bronze medals and 50 points), Russia (one bronze and 26 points), India (no medals and 18 points), Iraq (no medals and 9 points), Lebanon (no medals and 5 points) and Armenia (no Medals and points) were ranked fourth to ninth, respectively.

The best results of the first thirty-one were introduced as follows:

Best Coach: Vahid Abdollahi (Iran)
Best Player: Daniel Bozorgi (Iran)
Best Referee: Mohammad Azizi (Iran), Samah Hamoudi (Qatar) and Adam Tawfiq (Jordan)
Ethics Cup: Iraq
Best Supervisor: Larissa Fadova (Russia)
