When buying Pride was not a dream. With some planning and austerity in some expenses, it was still possible to buy Pride. The same car became a means to earn money and make a living.
Traveling was not the first decision for some people. Some people turned to traveling after being disappointed to find a job with enough income in the labor market. Now, passenger transport has become one of the most demanded jobs, and buying a car has become difficult to enter this job.
Some people rent Pride for traveling business. A car that was supposed to be easier for people to buy than other cars, but now it has become a distant dream. The job market is chaotic, the car market is even more chaotic. Buying a high-quality car has become unattainable for some Iranian households. 10 years ago, people could buy Pride for 15 million tomans. Now, at the same price, they can rent it for just one month.
Another ad is related to a Pride model 97. The advertiser says: “You must pay a deposit of 10 million tomans in cash. The rent is equivalent to five million tomans every 15 days.”
He continues: “You must also hand over the Sana form guarantee, birth certificate, and national identity card. You can use this car to work.”
There is a lot of demand for rental pride
As the manager of one of the car rental companies says, the number of applicants for renting Pride is not small. He says: “I have two Pride models. I have Pride model 92, you need to hand over the promissory note of 300 million tomans and I rent it for 300 thousand tomans daily. Pride model 98 is also rented for 400 thousand tomans per day.
“There is a lot of demand,” he continues. Right now, we have 17 cars in the hands of people who travel with them. We also rent other cars, but they use Pride for passenger transportation.
One advertiser says, “We charge more for car rentals than the price of the car. For any potential hazards that may arise in this work. The heavy bill makes people be very careful while working with the car. For example, don’t have an accident and don’t get hurt.”

Motor rental for courier work
On the other hand, the rental market also reaches motorcycles. “I have different models of engines,” says one advertiser. Since they usually rent for engine work, we don’t rent high models.”
He says: “We have a Honda model 92 engine, we pay a cash deposit of 1.5 million tomans and rent 115 thousand tomans per day. We also have a 95 model, it is rented for 125 thousand tomans.
“Before, we only rented cars, but we saw that there is a lot of demand for motorbikes as well. We added this option. Many people take motorbikes from us to work in companies. The engine is expensive, it is difficult for them to buy it. They rent.” These are the explanations given by the manager of the motor rental company.
“People rent motorbikes for couriers,” he says. We do not rent expensive motorbikes. Because it is not profitable for them to rent expensive engines. At the end of the month, they have nothing left. “They rent a regular engine just to get their work started.”
