Private automakers do not need a lottery system

According to Eqtesadonline, quoting Headline 20, Behzad Rahimi, a member of the Parliamentary Industries Commission, said regarding the Minister Samat’s directive to the Protection Organization that all car manufacturers, both private and public, should sell their cars on the market based on a lottery. The minister had promised to eliminate the car lottery this year and this system was not supposed to continue this year, this circular is against the minister’s promise.

He said: “This procedure will cause a lot of damage to the car market because private car manufacturers, unlike government car manufacturers, offered their cars to the market on time during this period and had no problems.”

Rahimi stressed that now state-owned carmakers are holding special sales and delivering cars quarterly, while private carmakers are delivering cars to customers in less than three months. “If private carmakers also want to follow the lottery system,” Rahimi said. They are facing the problem of government carmakers, which is an irreparable issue for the current car market.

A member of the parliamentary industry commission says: “This directive will definitely have many consequences and margins for the car market and its implementation must be prevented.”

He explained: The parliament will definitely get involved in this issue; The minister promised that the lottery would be eliminated this year, and that the system would make the car market more chaotic.

Rahimi said: “Private automakers did not have a supply problem and now, with this procedure, they will definitely have a shortage of supply and the number of dealers will increase.”
