Production of the third phase of Pardis Petrochemical stopped due to gas shortage

Gholamreza Jamshidi, CEO of Pardis Petrochemical Company, in an interview with Fars News Agency, referring to the performance of this petrochemical company, said: “This year, we had good conditions in terms of production and sale of products and effective cooperation in Parsian Oil and Gas Working Group and Urea Working Group.” With these additions, we were able to raise the world price of urea to as high as $ 880, which is a unique figure. We made the most of selling urea at a high price.

* One month has passed since the gas shutdown of Pardis Petrochemical

Referring to the continuation of restrictions on the supply of required gas, he added: “But despite the good opportunity for currency exchange for the country, the production of the third phase of Pardis Petrochemical has been stopped for more than a month due to gas shortages.” The current priority of the Ministry of Oil is to supply gas to the domestic sector, which is why our third phase is out of circuit.

“Stopping urea production in the country endangers food security and we will have problems in fulfilling our obligations to farmers,” Jamshidi said. The bad thing is that it is not yet clear when the gas required for the third phase of Pardis Petrochemical will be connected.

The CEO of Pardis Petrochemical Company said: Pardis Petrochemical Company produces 5.3 million tons of urea and ammonia annually, of which 3 million tons are related to urea and 2 million tons are ammonia; During this period, the non-profit of gas cut in Pardis Petrochemical has been about 2 thousand billion Tomans.

* Last year, only 16 days, the third phase of Pardis Petrochemical was out of orbit

He said: “Last year, only 16 days of the third phase of Pardis Petrochemical was out of circuit due to gas shortage, but now more than a month has passed since the cessation of production in the third phase and it is not clear how long it will continue.”

Jamshidi said: “The production of all agricultural products in the country is almost dependent on urea. On the other hand, in terms of exports, the peak of urea sales is in autumn and winter, which has been deprived of its export currency due to high gas consumption in the domestic sector.”
