Providing insurance services to insured foreign nationals requires providing FIDA code


According to Poli Mali News, Mohammad Mohammadi, Deputy Insurance Director of the Social Security Organization, pointing out that the FIDA code actually replaces the national number of foreign nationals residing in Iran, said: Individuals and nationals of other countries can use it to perform administrative tasks and economic activities, as well as to benefit from some services. Health and education, banking and insurance need to have a comprehensive code. In fact, the comprehensive code for foreign nationals, which is also called FIDA or national specific number, is a 12-digit number that replaces the national number of foreign nationals residing in Iran, and by having it, they can legally benefit from some services and facilities.

Mohammadi pointed out that foreign nationals who legally reside and work in Iran need to have a FIDA code in order to benefit from social security insurance, adding: registration and assignment of social security number to foreign nationals legally working in Iran requires the provision of a specific FIDA number and Since the process of identifying and authenticating foreign nationals based on identity information connected to FIDA’s unique number is done in a mechanized manner, therefore, all foreign nationals who are currently insured by this organization and do not have a unique 12-digit FIDA number, it is necessary to prevent interruptions in Providing medical services and other support prescribed in the social security law, by referring to the Internet system kanoonnobat.ir and to receive an appointment, visit the residence and employment service offices of foreign nationals and take action as soon as possible to complete the procedures related to the issuance of the FIDA code.

He added: Insuring new people from among foreigners who are legally employed in Iran also requires the provision of a comprehensive code for foreign nationals.

The insurance deputy of the Social Security Organization also said: Regarding obtaining the FIDA code for foreign nationals who were insured with social security and have died, and the establishment of survivors’ pensions for their families, the necessary arrangements have been made with the relevant authorities to obtain the FIDA code in a mechanized manner and to allocate a special number of the FIDA code. For deceased persons, it is necessary to prepare all relevant identity documents (passport, residence permit, work permit and visa) by the family members of the deceased foreign nationals and submit them to the relevant social security branch, so that after conducting the necessary checks regarding receiving the FIDA code and Provide legal services to them.
