Provision of local currency of neighboring countries for Iranian travelers

According to Iran Economist, Ali Saeedi announced: Based on the planning, it was decided to provide the currency of the same country to Iranians who intend to travel to neighboring countries as travelers or tourists.
He added: These trips include pilgrimages to Iraq, which are paid based on dinars. Travel to Saudi Arabia for Hajj is provided in the form of Saudi Riyals, travel to Turkey in the form of Lira, and travel to the UAE in the form of Dirhams.
According to Saeedi, studies and executive measures have been carried out to provide local currencies, and operating banks have been prepared as logistics and support for providing local currencies.
CEO of Iran’s Gold and Currency Exchange Center said: We are trying to provide the currency needed by millions of travelers to neighboring countries. Before this, there was a lot of demand for traveling to neighboring countries in the form of dollars, while Iran has trade relations with all neighboring countries and bilateral swap agreements and monetary agreements, or the central bank is trying to establish monetary agreements with these countries.
Saeedi said: We will provide the lira needed by the travelers for their trip to Turkey. It becomes easier for both travelers and Turkish parties to accept Turkish lira more easily, and travelers do not need to pay dollar exchange fee once in Iran and once in Turkey to convert dollars to lira.
He added: From the beginning, we will provide the banknotes of the destination country for the passengers, and practically the air travel will reach the passenger behind the exit gate at the airport, and the central bank will find a better space to manage the currency market. On the other hand, the goal of dollarization will be achieved in our country and even neighboring countries that are trying to do this.
The CEO of Iran’s Gold and Currency Exchange Center emphasized: Dollarization is not only related to our politics and diplomacy, other countries also started this path and it is because of the risks they imagine and predict in dollar exchanges. We are also taking steps towards de-dollarization, and the gold and currency exchange center has also started this work, and the bank notes needed by travelers are provided by the operating banks.
