Qom Railway is the third passenger station in the country in terms of passenger movement
According to the Aria Heritage report, Gholam Hossein Dabagh, the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Qom, stated in an interview with reporters: “The Qom railway has grown by 44% compared to the same period last year, with the movement of 2,697,517 people in 1401.”
Director General of Qom Railway added: Last year, 635 thousand 93 passengers were recorded, which is 61%, and the number of passenger arrivals during this period was 898 thousand 695 passengers, which was also a 63% increase.
He continued: This is despite the fact that in the year 1400, during the same period, there were a total of 1 million 867 thousand 947 passengers.
Dabagh also stated that we have seen a 62% increase in the number of passengers in suburban trains, and said: the number of passengers entering and leaving suburban trains from Qom to Tehran and vice versa in the 12 months of 1401 was a total of one million, 233,788 passengers. This amount was 759,644 passengers in the same period last year.
The Director General of Qom Railway added: Due to the wide acceptance of the people and pilgrims of Hazrat Masoumeh (PBUH) for the passenger trains from Qom to Tehran and vice versa, and with the increase in the number of trains on this route, we are witnessing a significant increase in the number of passengers on this route, which we hope will increase again in the new year. With suburban trains, we can be a good servant for the pilgrims and the neighbors of the Crimean Shrine of Ahl al-Bayt (PBUH).
Dabbagh stated: Qom railway has obtained the third position among the 19 railway regions of the country in terms of passenger movement, and after Mashhad and Tehran, it is considered as the third station in the country in terms of passenger movement.
Director General of Qom Railway said: Qom Railway has more than 509 km of main line, 30 km of industrial and commercial lines and 50 km of secondary lines and consists of 15 stations.
He continued: Connection and communication with Isfahan, Arak and Tehran’s new and old axis, the arrival and departure of more than 28 thousand freight cars per month, the arrival and departure of more than 15 thousand passenger halls per month, the daily arrival and departure of 50 rams. Passenger train and 30 ram cargo train and located in the center of the country’s north-south and east-west corridor are the features of Qom railway.
According to the Director General of Qom Railway, the location of the Qom railway station in the city center, close to the Shrine of Hazrat Masoumeh (PBUH), the railway line passing through the city, the possibility of implementing TOD and creating investment opportunities for the development of urban services are other features of the Qom Railway.
