Qualcomm will unveil the Snapdragon 7 Plus 1st generation next week


In November 2022, Qualcomm unveiled its latest flagship chip, the Snapdragon 8 generation 2. Now the US-based company has confirmed that on March 17 (16 March) it will introduce the new Snapdragon mobile chip, which is said to be Snapdragon 7 Plus 1st generation will be.

So far, several reports have said that Qualcomm is working on two Snapdragon 7 series chipsets. A chipset with the part number SM7550 is expected to arrive in the second half of this year, which will likely be called the Snapdragon 7 Gen 2. However, the chip to be announced on March 16 has the part number SM7475 and is rumored to be called the Snapdragon 7 Plus 1.

In addition, manufacturers such as Redmi, Realme, Honor and Oppo are said to be planning to launch phones equipped with the Snapdragon 7 Plus 1st generation chip in the near future. It is expected that Redmi Note 12T Turbo and Realme GT Neo 5 SE could be the first phones to use this chip.

It is said that Note 12 Turbo will be introduced as Poco F5 in the global market. Hence, the Poco F5 might be the first phone with Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 1 for markets outside of China.

Specifications and possible features of Snapdragon 7 Plus 1st generation

Reports claim that the Snapdragon 7 Plus 1st Gen will feature a 4nm chipset manufactured by TSMC. About the configuration of this chipset, it is said to have one Cortex-X2 main core clocked at 2.95GHz, three Cortex-A510 cores clocked at 2.5GHz and four Cortex-A710 cores clocked at 1.8GHz. For graphics, this chipset is likely to be equipped with a 580 Hz Adreno 725 GPU.

Finally, it should be noted that Qualcomm’s chip was seen last month with a score of 1,029,731 in the Antoto benchmark. In Geekbench, this chipset has scored 1215 and 4064 in single-core and multi-core tests, respectively.
