Radeon 780M integrated graphics card, once again in 3DMark

Exactly one month ago, we first met the Radeon 780M RDNA 3 integrated graphics card on the Ryzen 9 7940HS Phoenix processor in the 3DMark benchmark, the results of which were published by a Chinese site. Now, as we get closer to the release date of these processors, we see the release of more benchmarks of these processors and integrated graphics.

Recently Moore’s Law is Dead A screenshot from the 3DMark benchmark published showing a Ryzen 7 7840HS processor and Radeon 780M integrated graphics card – the processor managed to score around 2590, while its consumption was limited to 25 watts. Last month, this graphics card was able to get 2486 points. The important thing is that this month’s benchmark belongs to the Ryzen 7 7840HS processor, whose frequencies are higher than the Ryzen 9 7940HS processor (the processor seen in the previous benchmark), but still this processor managed to get a 4% higher score.
The Radeon 780M integrated graphics card has 12 CUs inside it based on the RDNA 3 architecture, the same number of CUs used in the Rembrandt Zen3 APUs. Of course, RDNA 2 graphics cores were used in Rembrandt APUs, but RDNA 3 graphics cores were used in new generation Phoenix APUs. In addition, we see an increase in graphics frequencies to 2.8 GHz in the new processors.
AMD’s Ryzen 7040HX Phoenix series processors are going to revolutionize Windows Ultrabooks and, of course, handheld consoles. The graphics processor of these APUs provides a 30% performance improvement over the previous generation by consuming only 25 watts of energy. Unfortunately, AMD hasn’t announced any 15W Phoenix series processors yet, and on the other hand, 25W processors are too hot for small handheld consoles.
