Radeon RX 7600S graphics card performance in 3DMark

The Notebookcheck site has recently published the first review of the ASUS TUF A16 Advantage Edition gaming laptop equipped with Ryzen 7000 processors and AMD Radeon RX 7000 graphics cards. The model reviewed by NBC is exclusive to the Radeon RX 7600S graphics card, and we have seen the release of the first performance results of this graphics card.

TUF A16 laptop with Radeon RX 7600S graphics card

The 16-inch ASUS TUF A16 gaming laptop can be ordered with two processors, the 8-core Ryzen 7 7735HS processor based on the Zen 3+ architecture and the 8-core Ryzen 9 7940HS processor based on the Zen 4 architecture. The model that Notebookcheck used to review was equipped with an R7 7735HS processor with the older Zen 3+ architecture, not the newer Zen 4 architecture.

This laptop can also be ordered with two graphics cards, Radeon RX 7600S and Radeon RX 7700S graphics cards. The reviewed model is equipped with a Radeon RX 7600S graphics card, which uses a weakened version of the Navi 33 silicon.

We have seen the performance of the Radeon RX 7700S graphics card before; This graphics card can defeat the flagship of the previous generation, the RX 6800S, with a difference of 12%. On the other hand, the Radeon RX 6800S graphics card has fewer cores (1792 stream processors) and its thermal power is 25 watts less than the 7700S and operates in the range of 50 to 75 watts. This graphics card is equipped with 8 GB of memory through a 128-bit interface.

Notebookcheck has tested this graphics card in all known 3DMark benchmarks and integrated the results into a chart. As it turns out, the RX 7600S graphics card is only 1% faster than the RX 6800S graphics card.

In the gaming test, the TUF A16 laptop lags behind the Lenovo Legion S7 laptop with these specifications. Of course, the Legion S7 in question is equipped with a powerful Ryzen 9 6900HX processor, which is more powerful than the R7 7735HS processor, and the difference between these two laptops is partially justified.

The Radeon RX 7600S graphics card will most likely perform as well as the Radeon RX 6800S graphics card from the previous generation, if it is used alongside processors equal to the previous generation processors. If the processor power is significantly different in two gaming laptops, gaming performance no longer depends only on the graphics card, and the difference in processor power also shows itself in gaming performance.
