“Rai Alyoum” announced the progress in the talks between Hamas and Damascus

According to the report of Fars News Agency International Group, the electronic newspaper “Elium’s vote“, on Thursday evening, reported that after the agreement and security consultations between the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and the Syrian authorities with the mediation of Iran and the groundwork of the Lebanese Hezbollah movement, high-level contacts have been established between Hamas and Damascus officials in the past few days.

Raei Alyoum newspaper wrote that it seems that some Iranian and Lebanese agencies have played an “effective role” behind the scenes to coordinate the security and almost political talks between the Hamas movement and Damascus authorities.

According to this report, “it has been initially agreed to overcome some old sensitivities and resume meetings and meetings for periodic coordination, especially in Beirut.”

This media also quoted a Lebanese source who called it “very aware of the details”, and added that the Hamas movement may be able to open its representative office in the suburbs of Damascus in the near future.

This source, whose name was not mentioned, further noted that practical steps have been taken for this action and a senior member of Hamas has been assigned to carry out this task and exchange messages with Damascus.

At the end, Al-Youm’s decision pointed out that these negotiations were made with the coordination of “Saleh al-Arouri”, a senior member of Hamas, and the two sides are not in a hurry to make an official announcement at the moment.

The Hamas movement announced in a statement on September 15 last year that it intends to normalize and develop its relations with the Syrian government. On June 21, a Palestinian source told Turkey’s “Anatolia” news agency that Hamas and the Syrian government intend to resume relations after 10 years and open new horizons. Relations that turned cold after the beginning of the Syrian crisis.

After Hamas’s announcement, Khalil al-Hiya, the deputy of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement in the Gaza Strip, met Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Damascus and described it as “warm”.
