Raisi became a critic/ the government’s avoidance of accountability regarding the promise of building national housing

According to Tejarat News, these days it seems that Ebrahim Raisi has only one approach in response to criticisms about the performance of the 13th government; Criticism of the functioning of previous governments!
Regarding the construction of Mehr housing, Raisi said: “240,000 Mehr housings that were not built in the previous governments are left for the 13th government, which must be completed.”
He continued: “Previous governments even took the money for these houses from the people, but the money was spent in other cases. Some projects were 60-70% progress, but they were on the ground for 10 years and we were able to finish them. “Some projects were left on the ground so much that they were worn out and their structure must be replaced.”
Raisi also stated: “Some people say that we created such and such a place. “My question is, if you created them, why weren’t they exploited?”
The failure of the 13th government in building housing
A few days ago, during the delivery of the 7th plan to the parliament, Raisi said about the construction of housing in the country: “Some say in their words that you have promised to build one million housing units a year. In response, I say that the country needs one million houses a year; Those who did not build housing in previous years should also be held accountable. A maximum of 250,000 urban and rural units have been built per year.
He continued: “This one million is both the need of the country, the legal resolution of the parliament and the promise we made and we are in the process of implementing it. The parliament is with the government, with what the country needs. I must praise the new plan that was implemented in connection with the housing issue. “It was a good move to control the housing market.”
The dependence of housing projects on the macroeconomic situation
All Raeesi’s talk recently about the construction of supportive houses in the country raises the question, “What will happen to the task of four million national housing that the 13th government promised from the beginning?” And why is there no specific answer for the time and number of these units?
Now the banks do not have the necessary resources to pay the National Housing Movement loan and they prefer to spend their facilities on commercial projects that are more profitable for them. According to official statistics, the government does not have enough money to carry out the project without the help of the private sector.
The advancement of extensive housing projects depends on the macro economy of the country. As long as there are not enough financial resources to provide these projects, their completion will be transferred from government to government. The design of the projects should be in accordance with the existing capacities, and without considering it, the burden will fall on the shoulders of the next governments.
As the burden of the Mehr housing project has been borne by three successive governments, it is not clear who will bear the burden of building the units related to the National Housing Movement project.
