According to Tejarat News, the president gave a speech at the Supreme Housing Council on Thursday about the state of the national housing movement.

After presenting reports on the performance of the ministries, governorates and banks in the implementation of the national housing movement plan, the president, in the meeting of the Supreme Housing Council, assigned the Ministers of the Interior, Economy, Roads and Urban Development, the Governor General of the Central Bank and the Head of the Planning and Budget Organization to deal with possible delays. and accelerated the implementation of this plan.

Seyyed Ebrahim Raeesi, in the sixth meeting of the Supreme Housing Council, which was held this Thursday morning at the presidential office, considered housing to be the most important issue of the country and the most important concern of the people, and emphasized that the government will pursue the provision of housing with redoubled and non-stop efforts.

Emphasizing the serious pursuit of the implementation of the approvals of the meetings related to housing production based on a specific schedule, the president considered land to be the main issue in providing housing, and referring to the law on the transfer of land to institutions for the construction of housing needed in the country, he stated: some institutions perform well in They have given land, but some others should speed up the implementation of the law and be accountable.

In this 3-hour meeting, in which the head of the central bank and the managing directors of the banks were also present, while listening to the report on the performance of the banks in financing housing projects, Raisi clarified: according to the law, 20% of bank facilities should be allocated for the construction of housing, and if a bank The law that failed to act should be held accountable in this regard.

The president said: If a bank spends this wealth on false projects and investments instead of paying facilities for housing construction, it cannot be ignored, but if the capacity and financial power is not sufficient to pay all the facilities stipulated in the law, the Ministry of Economy will amend the law. Follow up through the parliament so that managers are not accused of breaking the law.

Raisi considered land and building materials to be the most important factors in the high cost of housing and referring to the government’s plan to provide land in order to reduce costs, he assigned Minister Sammat to consult with cement and steel producers to provide the necessary basis for providing these materials at a reasonable price for provide housing construction.

Referring to the performance of the governors in following up the government’s policies in the field of housing, Raisi called for the accountability of those provinces that have not fulfilled their mission properly and said: the ministers of the interior and road and urban development are obliged to send an inspection group to the provinces that, according to the reports, as soon as possible have performed poorly in this area, send them to investigate the issue carefully.
“Facilitating and prioritizing the issuance of construction permits”, “accelerating the construction of rural housing” and “discrediting normal documents” were among the other emphasis of the head of the Supreme Housing Council in this meeting.

Raisi also spoke about the need to attract private sector capital in the field of housing construction and obliged the Ministers of Roads and Economy, the heads of the Central Bank and the Planning and Budget Organization to come up with financing solutions for the implementation of the Housing Production Leap Law within one month in order to accelerate its realization. The government’s promise to review and present to the Supreme Council.

Raisi said: Housing is a serious concern of those who do not have a home and are renters, and the provision of shelter for the needy by those in charge of solving the housing problem and addressing people’s concerns is one of the ways to draw closer to God. In today’s meeting of the Supreme Housing Council, in which governors across the country also participated in the form of video conference, a report was presented on the progress of the National Housing Movement project, the performance of banks in financing these projects, and the record of institutions and governorates in providing land.

In this meeting, in addition to the review of past approvals, 14 new proposed packages in the areas of financing and assistance to the first to fourth deciles, provision of construction materials and placement of new settlements in the southern coast of the country with a sea-oriented economic approach were presented and reviewed.
