To test its new technology, Redmi has used a special version of the Redmi Note 12 Discovery phone with a 4100 mAh battery, which is actually 200 mAh less than the standard model.

As you can see in the video above, 50% of the battery capacity of this device is charged in just 2 minutes and 10 seconds, and it takes only 5 minutes to fully charge.

Although Redmi has unveiled this technology as a 300W charging technology, in the video we are facing a maximum charging speed of 290W and of course this speed is also variable. In fact, 300 watts is considered the highest speed in theory and the battery can be charged at such a speed, but in reality, due to security issues, we face a slightly lower speed.

The adapter used to charge this device uses dual GaN technology and has more than 50 security protections. Despite the 300W charging technology and these protections, the charger is still relatively small in size.

Currently, Redmi has not said when this technology will be commercially available and when a smartphone with this charging speed will be available to users. Currently, some Chinese flagships support charging speeds of 120 and even 150 watts, which are significant speeds and can charge a 5000 mAh battery in less than 30 minutes.

Before Redmi unveiled its new charging technology, Realme had broken a record with a charging speed of 240 watts.
