Reducing dependence on the dollar by implementing the country’s clearing policy requires solving the problem of inflationary stagnation

In an interview with the economic reporter of Fars news agency, Jafar Qadri, referring to the Supreme Leader’s orders in the new year and naming the year 1402 as “inflation control, production growth”, said: the two major problems of the country, one is the issue of inflation and the other is unemployment, which is the result of this Two is referred to as the misery index.

The first deputy of the Islamic Council’s Production Jump Commission stated: Unfortunately, the combination of these two issues in the country is a high rate.

The head of the Economic Committee of the Program and Budget Commission of the Islamic Council stated: Neither economic growth is desirable without solving the problem of inflation, nor is inflation suitable without solving the problem of economic growth, and both should be addressed at the same time. Therefore, instead of fueling inflation to solve recession or solving inflation that leads to recession, we should solve record inflation and use policies to solve both at the same time.

He stated: Now there are plans and projects that the government has entered into, while the private sector can do them, without having a financial burden on the banks.

Qadri stated: Many of the government’s plans and projects cause disharmony in the banking system, while these works such as road construction, water transfer, and dam construction projects could be done by the non-governmental sector.

This representative of the Islamic Council stated: The entry of the non-governmental sector into various plans and projects does not mean that we should bring the qualities into the work, but we should use the power and capacity of the qualities not as a substitute, but as a complement to the private sector.

He added: Now there is a concern that we leave the plans to the private sector and this causes the non-governmental sector to be completely worried and not to enter into issues and issues, in other words, we cannot use the capacity of the private sector, and sometimes the failure to use the capacity of the private sector causes It has been done so that liquidity at the disposal of this sector will create more problems, while it is desirable that liquidity should enter the productive sectors and be used to solve the country’s problems.

Qadri said: In order to develop job-creating projects, licensing of businesses and works should be facilitated, and the government should pay more serious attention to this issue and deal with institutions and groups that defy the law.

He stated that we should use the power and capacities so that capitals do not leave the country, and said: “Government interests should be used in financing production and providing infrastructure.”

In response to the question, what should we do in this regard, considering the Supreme Leader’s emphasis on reducing dependence on oil exports, he said: There was a misconception in the previous government, that we should have a place among oil exporting countries. Let’s protect ourselves, while this view is in complete conflict with the Supreme Leader’s view, and earlier these reminders were given to gentlemen that you cannot pursue two conflicting goals at the same time.

Stating that we should move towards separating from crude oil trading, this member of the Islamic Council added: If we want to always be prominent as a major crude oil exporting country, this issue will not help us and has no place for us. Saudi Arabia has followed this work for many years and what position has this work had for this country?

He added: Being an absolute exporter of crude oil means giving in to the division of labor that has been drawn for us in the world, and following this means that we always export crude oil and import the consumer goods we need. that oil and gas creates a relative advantage for us to develop industries related to oil and gas.

The Chairman of the Economic Committee of the Program and Budget Commission of the Islamic Parliament stated: Converting crude oil into petrochemical products and petroleum products reduces the vulnerability of our economy and reduces the pressure of sanctions, but when we are exporters of crude oil, we are easily subject to sanctions and On the other hand, its added value goes to others.

He added: As the Supreme Leader said, one of the disadvantages and weaknesses of our country is dependence on crude oil income, and we must separate from it.

* Using the clearing method in trade with China, UAE, Iraq and Russia

In response to the question, how can this be achieved in light of the Supreme Leader’s emphasis on the separation of the dollar from the economy, he said: When the majority of our country’s trade is with countries like Russia, China, the UAE, and Iraq, it is possible to used to reduce dependence on the dollar. Considering this issue, we can use clearing policies for trade with these countries and reduce dependence on the dollar.

He stated: One of the harms we have faced during this period is that most of our incomes are in one currency and our expenses are in another currency, so when we are sanctioned, it will be difficult to convert currency and diversify our currency portfolio. therefore, we must put the exchange and clearing system on the agenda and use this possibility and opportunity and reduce economic vulnerability in order to increase our economic resilience against external impulses.
