He added that the country’s rainfall in the current water year has decreased by 16% compared to the long-term average, despite a 5% increase compared to the amount of rains at the same time of the last water year.

Qasimzadeh stated that “rainfalls of the current water year have reached 188 mm so far”, he said: “The distribution of rainfall is very irregular and we have not had adequate rainfall in the northwest of the country, the northern provinces and part of the central plateau.”

He continued: In Tehran, we are facing a 28% decrease in rainfall compared to normal conditions and a 6% decrease in rainfall compared to the same period last year.
