Reforming the banking network is a priority for the year 1994

The Minister of Economy in a meeting with the CEOs of the country’s banks emphasized:
According to the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance, Seyed Ehsan Khandouzi, Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance, said in a symposium with CEOs of public and private banks at the ministry: “Today, we are talking about all variables of the economy.” By the end of March, except for the figures for the economic growth rate, which is always calculated and announced with a delay, it is clear, but you must be aware of other economic indicators in the current situation in terms of foreign relations and variables affecting the 1401 budget.
Khandouzi added: “So now we can talk more confidently about the economic policies of 1401. In the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance, due to the special role of the banking network in financing, two issues are important to us. The first issue is the banking network itself.” In other words, we seek to make all the necessary arrangements to improve the health of the banking network and in the same sense as in the conventional banking literature.
The Minister of Economy added: “Therefore, we must work on empowering, reforming and beautifying the banking network.”
The Minister of Economy stated that perhaps if we or the Governor of the Central Bank are critically faced with some approvals, especially the approvals of the budget and the parliament, it is from the same point of view, and if it wants approvals, it will jeopardize the indicators of capability, wealth and banking health. Even if it does benefit other groups outside the economy in the short term (which are often the right needs); However, in order to regulate the relationship between these unlimited needs and our limited resources, we must use the art of economic management, and from this perspective, we must help, and we ask you to do the same within the banking network, in addition to the points you mentioned. As a banking business, make this a top priority.
Khandouzi added that the second point is about the development financing plan; One of the reasons why we consider the 1990s as perhaps the lost decade of the Iranian economy is because the engines of financing the progress of the Iranian economy have been shut down, and if we see that the gross capital formation in the country will eventually be zero and sometimes even negative. The downside is that neither the government played its traditional role in acquiring capital assets, nor did the country’s banking network play a role, nor was there a replacement for the engines that traditionally did.
He continued; That’s why we want to help create progress financing. Of course, not only progress means the hard and mechanical development of large projects, but also inclusive growth and growth in the sense of (inclusive growth), that is, having marginalized groups, and try to make groups with less access to credit an important part of management. The modern economy will also improve.
Khandouzi went on to say: “My colleagues in the Ministry of Economy have set up a four-pronged axis for the year 1401 with this view;” Part of it is related to credit policies, part of it is related to counterbalance policies, and the third part is related to policies in the field of technological strategies and banking network modernization, and the fourth part is related to regulatory strategies that provide special regulations for special accesses. Suggests.
In the end, the Minister of Economy said: “Our colleagues are trying to complete these four axes with the cooperation of experts and managers of the country’s banking system, and we hope that it will be officially announced by the end of April and will be provided to the managers of the country’s banking network.”
At this meeting, the CEOs of public and private banks also expressed their views and opinions.
