According to the correspondent of Fars News Agency’s Afghanistan website, Hafiz Zia Ahmad, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the interim government of the Taliban, announced today, Thursday, the 22nd of December, the meeting of the special representative of the Russian president, Zamir Kabulov, with the Taliban’s foreign minister, Amir Khan Motaghi.
According to him, in this meeting, views were exchanged on bilateral cooperation, regional issues and recent developments in Afghanistan.
Motaghi told Kabulov that Russia has a special position in Taliban’s foreign policies.
He also thanked Russia for providing facilities for the Afghan embassy in Moscow and asked Kabulov to treat Afghanistan in a special way in terms of customs tariffs.
According to the spokesman of the Taliban Foreign Ministry, the representative of Moscow added in this meeting that Russia wants stability and development in Afghanistan and does not want to criticize Afghanistan and interfere in its internal affairs like Western countries.
