Regional developments centered on dialogue between the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia and France

According to IRNA, the official Saudi news agency (WAS) wrote that Bin Farhan met with French Foreign Minister Laudrian at the Saudi Foreign Ministry to discuss developments in the region.

According to the report, the foreign ministers of France and Saudi Arabia discussed relations between the two countries.

The two sides also discussed ways to expand and strengthen French-Saudi relations and regional developments.

Ben Farhan also met today with EU foreign policy chief Joseph Borrell in Riyadh.

The Saudi Foreign Minister said during the meeting that talks with the Islamic Republic of Iran are under evaluation.

In a joint news conference with EU foreign policy chief Joseph Borrell, Faisal bin Farhan expressed hope that the talks would pave the way for the two sides to address key issues, Al-Akhbariya reported on Sunday.

So far, three rounds of talks between Iran and Saudi Arabia have been hosted by Iraq, but some reports suggest that a new round of talks took place last week in Baghdad.

Western news agencies quoted two Iraqi officials as saying on Monday that a new and fourth round of talks between Iranian and Saudi representatives had taken place in Baghdad.

Saudi Foreign Minister Ben Farhan, whose country has for more than six years formed an anti-Yemeni military coalition, the poorest Arab country, and which attacks the country every day, said during the meeting that he told the EU envoy about the continuing danger. I explained the peace plans by the Houthis.

According to Al-Jazeera, Borrell also stressed that Europe supports a peaceful solution to the Yemeni crisis, stressing that the European Union supports peaceful solutions to end the Yemeni crisis.

“Europe wants a ceasefire, and we call on the Houthis to call for a ceasefire and to support peaceful solutions to end the crisis in Yemen,” the EU foreign policy chief said during the meeting.

Borrell added that what is happening in Yemen now is a great crisis and catastrophe that has serious and negative consequences for the region.

Josep Borrell headed a diplomatic delegation from the European Union on a four-day trip to the Middle East last Thursday.
He arrived in Qatar at the first stop of the trip and discussed with senior officials the development of bilateral relations and developments in the region, including the situation in Afghanistan and the Iran nuclear deal.

The EU foreign policy chief also met with Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan in Brussels a few months ago to express concern over developments in Yemen and called on all parties to end the catastrophic conflict in the country.

According to IRNA, the European External Action Service, Joseph Borrell, while expressing his desire to reduce tensions in the Persian Gulf region, noted that the European Union supports a political solution and dialogue in this area.

Saudi Arabia, with the support of the United States, the United Arab Emirates and several other countries, has launched a military invasion and siege of Yemen since March 2015. The outbreak of war by Saudi Arabia and its allies in Yemen has so far killed tens of thousands and displaced millions of Yemenis.

The Saudi military aggression has also left the poor country of Yemen severely short of food and medicine.
