According to McAfee researchers, Xamalicious is an Android backdoor built on the Xamarin open source mobile application platform. Xamalocious-infected apps use social engineering tactics to gain access to victims’ phones. At this stage, the device starts communicating with a command and control server, without the device owner being informed.
Then the server will perform a second upload on your phone, after which it will “take full control of the device and do things like click ads, install apps, and even do financial things without the user’s consent.”
