Republicans call for briefing on Vienna talks – Mehr News Agency | Iran and world’s news

In a letter to Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, a number of Republicans in the US House of Representatives called for an explanation of the Vienna talks, the Daily News reported, quoting the Daily Color.
James Kummer, a senior member of the House Appropriations Committee, and Glenn Gratman, a senior member of the House National Security Committee, along with a number of fellow Republicans, argued that the Biden administration should not agree. They expressed concern that he would be more generously satisfied with Borjam.
They accused Iran of supporting terrorism, claiming that reports of ongoing negotiations with Iran raise serious concerns about why the US government is willing to engage and provide US taxpayer dollars to a country that opposes US interests.
Republicans in the House of Representatives added: “Instead of encouraging domestic energy production, the government seems to be seeking to give Iran re-access to international oil markets in the coming months.” We are very concerned that these talks could jeopardize the Americans and the rest of the world. Therefore, we request a briefing as soon as possible.
Iranian officials say the lack of a US political decision to lift sanctions is hampering final results. Explaining the latest developments related to the Vienna talks, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian criticized the US approach to the recent sanctions on some Iranian officials, saying: “Everything now depends on whether the United States wants to be realistic or not.” He wants to be responsible for the failure of the negotiations.
The US Treasury Department announced on Wednesday that it had imposed new sanctions on several entities in Tehran and an Iranian man claiming links to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
