Republicans in America are opposed to helping Ukraine through Russian assets

According to IRNA, the Washington Post newspaper quoted knowledgeable sources and wrote: A group of Republican senators and representatives of the United States announced their opposition to a section of the National Defense Authorization Act that allows the United States to transfer seized Russian assets to Ukraine.
Democrats say removing the clause from the $840 billion package would undermine the Joe Biden administration’s ability to deliver aid to Ukraine’s devastated economy, as Washington has poured resources into Ukraine over the past eight months. Republicans believe that this clause has not been approved by the relevant committees.
There is a difference of opinion on this issue while there are doubts about the Republicans’ support for Ukraine in the war against Russia. The Republican establishment, led by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, has called for continued approval of U.S. financial and military aid to Ukraine, while House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy has called for an end to “blank check signatures” for the Ukraine war.
According to The Washington Post, Democrats have been trying to reduce their internal differences over Ukraine in recent days after liberals in the House of Representatives backed away from a letter asking the Biden administration to consider direct talks with Russia.
Republican senators primarily oppose the provision and believe it should be reviewed by the House and Senate Judiciary Committees.
US Attorney General Merrick Garland announced that a task force had been created in March to enforce US sanctions against Kremlin-linked Russian elites. Since then, the US and its Western allies have seized billions of dollars in assets belonging to Russian oligarchs, including yachts, mansions and luxury jets.
The Democratic-sponsored provision would allow the attorney general to transfer Russian assets seized by the United States to Ukraine to “mitigate the damage caused by Russia’s attack on Ukraine.”
