Return of Iranian home appliances abroad with a Korean brand to the country / Price reduction of 5 home appliance brands


According to Fars News Agency, quoting the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade, Mohammad Vesali Ghamsari stated that before the sanctions, 70% of the home appliance market was owned by Korean brands. Production of 8.5 million units per year reached 15.5 million units, thus increasing production by 80%.

He added: “Maybe those were the days when you had to register with a national code for a home appliance product, and something very bad could have happened that was contained.”

The Director General of the Office and Home Appliances Industries Office of the Ministry of Silence stated: The employment of this industry is 300,000 people, its turnover is 6 billion dollars and our active units are about 500 units, but of course we have up to 800 production units, empty capacity.

Referring to the 100 to 120 percent increase in some products, including side-by-side and twin refrigerators, he acknowledged: “In the case of laundry, production was higher and fortunately we did not have a high price increase, and this increase was below 20 to 30 percent per year.”

The Director General of the Office and Home Appliances Industries Office of the Ministry of Silence stated: The raw materials of the country’s production units in these two years have increased by an average of about 60% due to exchange rate changes; For example, the global price of a TV module is 30%, a refrigerator compressor is 20%, and colored, pre-painted, cold-rolled sheets used in stoves and washing machines have increased in price by an average of about 60% since 1997.

Announcing that since the beginning of September, monitoring has been smart and purposeful, Vesali said: “We have activated a comprehensive trade system so that production units can present their invoices based on the constituent structure of each product;” Based on the structure of each product for each brand, from the beginning of December, the Ministry’s market monitoring working groups are formed and each brand is monitored.

He continued: “What happened was that from the second week, the third of January, some production units, depending on the routine they had each year, increased the price by 12 to 13 percent.”

“People should expect us to make this happen; Following the follow-up of our collection, about 5 brands immediately reduced their prices.

Vesali also said whether these production units will not be held accountable for their price increase: “Our intelligent order registration system is directly related to customer satisfaction and what has happened, and certainly in the supply of raw materials, currency and registration.” Their orders will be effective, while the violations of the production units will be followed up through the organization of consumer and producer protection and punishments.

Announcing that the offending brands returned to the path of cooperation, he said: “The brands that did not cooperate with us may not be more than two or three brands, which of course are not the product of our selected goods (refrigerator, washing machine, TV and stove).”

The director general of the Office and Home Appliances Industries Office of the Ministry of Silence also said regarding the quality of home appliance products: out of 100% of production units, the quality of 50 to 60% of production units is good and even exports are reversed; People should know that the Iranian product goes abroad and eats foreign or Korean labels and returns to the country and people buy it with the imagination of foreign goods.
