Reuters: Biden government bans Chinese access to US citizen data

The Biden administration has drafted an executive order that gives the Department of Justice broad powers to prevent foreign enemies such as China from accessing Americans’ personal information, IRNA reported.
Under the executive order, the U.S. Attorney General is empowered to review and prevent commercial transactions involving the sale of data based on US national security reasons.
The executive directive also requires the US Department of Health and Human Services to establish a rule to ensure that federal aid transfers health or biological data of American citizens to entities owned, controlled, or authorized by or directed by foreign enemies. United are not supported.
The Biden administration is proposing a new executive order amid frustration with the Commerce Department’s failure to use the same powers accorded to it under former President Donald Trump in 2019.
According to Reuters, Biden’s draft executive order supports Commerce Department officials and gives the Department of Justice the ability to oversee compliance with the previous order.
