Revival of JCPOA and renewal of Iran’s tourism industry

With the passage of 50 months since the unilateral withdrawal of the United States from the JCPOA on 18 May 2018 (9 May 2018), hopes have been formed in the international space for the revival of the JCPOA. Since tourism is one of the industries that will be affected almost immediately by the effects of revitalization of JCPOA, therefore, the way to face this event in the field of tourism needs more planning.
The most important goal of the American embargo was to turn our country from a development model into a lesson for independent countries; But the complexity of global trade and the adoption of some effective domestic policies, as well as the effects of the war in Ukraine, have changed the playing field for the benefit of our country.
If the imminent agreement of the JCPOA is realized as it appears from independent media, then the conditions for the tourism industry at least in the field of monetary and tourism banking, especially in the connection of the banking system to the SWIFT network and the opening of international credits (LC) for tourism infrastructure projects and the possibility of using The financial resources of the block will be freed and a part of them will be directed towards the construction and equipping of tourism facilities according to Murad.
Also, creating an electronic infrastructure for tourists to use international credit cards and global reservation networks, establishing full coverage of international insurances and solving the problems of buying, importing and exporting goods and services related to tourism such as handicrafts in the monetary and banking field of tourism are other effective and predictable results. This is the agreement.
Of course, the revitalization of JCPOA in the field of tourism business will not be without influence, guiding foreign companies to cooperate in exporting goods, services and capital to Iran, reducing costs and duties and taxes in providing equipment needed by tourism units and purchasing suitable means of transportation, including airplanes and entering They are also one of the things that should be expected from the revival of the JCPOA to the tourism services market.
Undoubtedly, after the revival of the JCPOA, the use of credit lines for technical and credit assistance for the tourism sector will be facilitated compared to the past 50 months, and certainly incentives will be determined to attract foreign investors whose Middle East market has been severely damaged in recent years. is considered At the same time, large international companies and famous brands should be encouraged to be present in Iran’s tourism market and small Iranian investors should be supported against large foreign investments. .
However, revitalization of the JCPOA will create changes in the field of market expansion and tourism marketing, for example, specialized tourism such as health tourism will be developed and the necessary equipment will be easily provided. On the other hand, with the reduction of Iranophobia and the appearance of a new image of Iran, the traditional markets of Iran will be revived in Europe, in addition to the ease of entry of more and more Iranians living abroad, the entry of foreign tourists into the country will be facilitated in terms of entry regulations and customs and airport formalities.
The simultaneity of the lifting of sanctions with the abatement of the Corona disease at the global level will put Iran’s tourism industry in a privileged position so that this industry, by reviving its international market, will also get an opportunity to review domestic policies and plans. The most important measures envisaged in this area will be to rebuild the image of Iran and paint the real face of our country.
