Riyadh summoned its ambassador to Beirut and demanded that the Lebanese ambassador leave the country.

According to Sputnik, Saudi state television Al-Akhbariya reported that Saudi Arabia had summoned its ambassador to Lebanon for consultations and asked the Lebanese ambassador to leave the country.

A diplomatic source said Saudi officials were considering severing diplomatic ties with Lebanon.

The channel said in a statement: The Kingdom summoned its ambassador to Lebanon and asked the Lebanese ambassador to leave the country within the next 48 hours and decided to suspend imports from Lebanon to Lebanon.

Tensions between the Saudis and Lebanon escalated after the Lebanese Minister of Information was quoted as saying that the Saudi coalition was invading Yemen.
