Riyadh’s ambassador to Yemen also said about Saudi Arabia’s position and role in Yemen’s peace talks: “Riyadh considers itself more than a mediator and tries to facilitate an agreement between the Houthis and the legitimate government.”

Mohammad Al-Jaber added: “Considering that Saudi Arabia has relations with all Yemeni spectrums, including the Houthis, we will use our influence to persuade all Yemenis to sit around a table and discuss all issues.”

This comment comes despite the fact that Ansarullah officials have repeatedly said that their only negotiating party is the government of Riyadh, and they do not recognize the Saudi-affiliated government in Aden and are not willing to talk and negotiate with them.
