According to Tejarat News, former Minister of Roads and Urban Development Rostam Ghasemi died this morning after a period of illness.

Rostam Ghasemi, who joined the Raeesi government’s cabinet as the Minister of Roads and Urban Development in September last year, resigned from this position some time ago. At the same time, some members of the parliament and figures close to the government said that one of the reasons for his resignation was the aggravation of his illness.

A few months after Ghasemi was elected as the Minister of Roads, signs of illness appeared in him. It is said that his illness worsened about two months ago. Although he started his treatment process quickly after leaving the cabinet, but according to his relatives, the speed of the cancer progress was such that the treatment process did not succeed and Ghasemi said goodbye to Darfani this morning. It is said that Ghasemi was suffering from gastrointestinal cancer.

Ghasemi was the Minister of Oil in Ahmadinejad’s government and became the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development in Raisi’s government. He has also held several responsibilities in Khatam al-Anbiya camp.
