Russia bans the use of iPhones by officials

Russia is gearing up for its 2024 presidential election, and officials involved in the run-up to the event have been told to stop using Apple phones amid security concerns about the iPhone being vulnerable to Western intelligence agencies.

In a meeting, “Sergei Krinko”, the first vice president of Russia, told the officials to change their phones by April 1 (12 Farudin 1402). According to one participant, the meeting said that everything is done for the iPhone, so either throw it away or give it to your children. Apparently, everyone should do this by the end of this month.
According to the Russian newspaper, the Kremlin is likely to replace iPhones with other devices with different operating systems. Officials involved in domestic politics have also been directly told to stop using iPhones. Of course, the Kremlin spokesman said that he could not confirm this report.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that smartphones should not be used for official work:
