Russia captured strategic village in Donetsk

According to the report of Fars International News Agency, Russia reported today about the military advances of its army in the Donbas region and said that the Moscow forces have liberated several points by pushing back the Ukrainian forces.

The Russian army announced on Monday that the strategic village of “Pavloka” in the southwest of Donetsk has been liberated and cleared of Ukrainian forces.

This village, located at a key intersection, has been the scene of fierce clashes between Russian and Ukrainian forces in recent weeks. The Ministry of Defense of Russia said that the Ukrainian army suffered heavy losses in these conflicts. According to Russia, the ratio of Ukrainian to Russian casualties was 9 to 1.

The president of Donetsk said a little earlier that this village is located in an important area and its capture will facilitate the advance of Russian forces to the north of the region. This advance is necessary to push Ukraine back from the center of Donetsk.

On February 24, 2022 (5th of March 1400), after recognizing the independence of Luhansk and Donetsk republics from Ukraine, Russia sent troops to this region and announced the beginning of “special military operations in Ukraine”.

Russia has announced its goal of this action to de-Nazify Ukraine, disarm this country, resolve its security concerns and respond to Luhansk and Donetsk’s request for help, and has said that it has no intention of seizing Ukrainian lands.

However, the Ukrainian government has not recognized the independence of Donetsk and Luhansk and has called Russia’s military presence an “aggression and attack on its territorial integrity”.

Following the beginning of Russia’s conflict with Ukraine, while condemning Moscow and intensifying economic pressures, Western countries have put all-round political, financial, and weapons support for Kiev on the agenda.

Despite the support of the West, in the field, Russia has managed to control Luhansk in the eastern Donbass region of Ukraine and is trying to dominate all regions of Donetsk.
