Russia has accused the White House of trying to blackmail Moscow

“Accusations of Russia using chemical weapons and numerous cases of occupation by countries by the White House are baseless and untrue,” Antonov was quoted as saying by Russia’s state television.
White House spokesman Jen Saki yesterday accused Russia of using chemical weapons and repeatedly occupying countries.
The Russian ambassador to Washington called the White House spokesman a “lie” to blackmail Russia into public view of the United States and the international community.
Antonov noted that Russia follows the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries and fully complies with international law.
He added: “Russia’s approach in the foreign arena is contrary to US actions, whose contemporary history is more similar to the number of US military operations in different countries of the world.”
Russia-US relations are strained, and Washington has imposed more than 100 packages of economic and financial sanctions on Moscow in the past eight years, and has placed hundreds of Russian officials on its sanctions list.
In recent months, Washington has accused Moscow of plotting to invade Ukraine, and Russian officials have repeatedly denied the allegations.
