Russia increases fuel exports to Afghanistan


According to the correspondent of Fars News Agency’s Afghanistan website, Dmitry Zhernov, the Russian ambassador in Kabul, said that his country plans to increase the volume of fuel exports to Afghanistan.

According to Sputnik, Zhernov said in an interview with Russia 24 TV: “In practice, these contracts are commercial. We get paid for it. “We are currently increasing the supply of fuel and food to Afghanistan.”

The Russian ambassador also added that during the year, the volume of trade between Russia and Afghanistan increased by 40%.

Earlier, Zamir Kabulov, Russia’s representative in Afghanistan affairs, said that Russia and the Taliban have an agreement in principle to cooperate on the trade of essential goods such as wheat and oil products.

Meanwhile, at the end of 2022, Nuruddin Azizi, acting minister of industry and trade of the Taliban, went to Russia and signed the contract to import wheat and oil from Russia.

According to Sputnik, according to the contract between the two parties, Russia is going to export two million tons of wheat to Afghanistan every year.

Russia is one of the countries that wants economic relations with the Taliban group.
