Russia returned to the top 10 largest economies in the world


According to the report of the International Economy Group of Fars News Agency, citing Sputnik, Russia was ranked eighth in the World Bank’s index of the world’s top 10 economies due to the production of goods and services worth 2.3 trillion dollars at the end of 2022.

Russia has returned to the world’s 10 largest economies while facing the flood of Western sanctions against Russia after the start of its military operations in Ukraine in February 2022.

The last time Russia was in the top 10 was in 2014, when it ranked ninth with a GDP of $2.05 trillion, rising to 11th in 2021.

According to the data, the United States remained the world’s largest economy last year with a GDP of $25.46 trillion.

China ranked second with a GDP of 17.94 trillion, and Japan, as usual, took third place with 4.17 trillion.

Germany ranked fourth with a GDP of 4.07 trillion, India ranked fifth with 3.4 trillion, Great Britain ranked sixth with 3.07 trillion, and France remained seventh with 2.78 trillion.

Canada ranked ninth with $2.14 trillion, while Italy dropped from eighth to tenth with $2.01 trillion.
