Russian Ambassador to Baghdad: No problem in the Middle East can be solved without Iran


During the meeting, which was held at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Baghdad, the two sides stressed the good relations between the two countries and their readiness to develop relations and mutual cooperation.

The Russian ambassador said: “Today, no problem in the Middle East can be solved without the participation of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and we have always conveyed this issue to Western officials.”

Kotrashev also expressed satisfaction with the progress of several rounds of talks between Iran and Saudi Arabia in Baghdad, saying it was in the region’s interest.

Iraj Masjedi, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Iraq, also stressed the importance of holding parliamentary elections in Iraq on October 10, 2021 and said: The Islamic Republic of Iran has always supported stability, peace, progress and territorial integrity of the Republic of Iraq and in this direction He spares no effort. We have always respected and supported the choice of the Iraqi people.

Iraqi parliamentary elections are scheduled for October 10, 2021 (October 18).

Today, Tuesday, at the same time as the meeting, the British Ambassador to Baghdad, Mark Bryson, met with Qassim al-Araji, the Iraqi government’s national security adviser, at al-Araji’s office and expressed hope that Iran-Saudi Arabia talks would continue in Baghdad.

“We welcome the Iran-Saudi Arabia dialogue and hope that it will be extended to all Gulf states to provide security and stability,” Bryson said.
