Russian diplomat: We are not targeting the Ukrainian people

Russia’s ambassador to Lebanon, Alexander Rudakov, has stressed that the country’s military operation in Ukraine has been successful so far, according to Fars News Agency’s International Group.
“Russian military operations do not target the Ukrainian people,” Rudakov told Al-Mayadin news network. “The world is not unique to Russia for Russia,” he said sarcastically to European countries.
He stressed that Russia was ready to come to terms with sanctions, saying that human rights abuses against Russian citizens were taking place in the West.
In this regard, the French Minister of Finance today condemned Russia’s actions in Ukraine and announced that the European Union will launch a comprehensive economic and financial war against Russia. He also warned Russia about the collapse of its economy as a result of the “economic war”.
The French official’s remarks were met with a reaction from Dmitry Medvedev, the deputy head of the Security Council of the Russian Federation. “Be careful what you say,” he said in a Twitter message to Paris officials, who has also served as Russia’s president and prime minister.
“Some French ministers have said today that they have declared an economic war on Russia,” Medvedev wrote on Twitter. “Gentlemen, be careful what you say, and do not forget that in human history, economic wars often turn into real wars.”
Simultaneously with this statement, the military movements of NATO member states to counter the so-called “Russian threats” continue. NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg has announced that the French army will be deployed today (Tuesday) in neighboring Ukraine’s first deployment of NATO Rapid Reaction Forces.
The secretary general of the Western military alliance, of course, claimed that NATO did not intend to be part of the Russia-Ukraine conflict. NATO will not send troops to Ukraine and will not send aircraft to its airspace.
