Russian gas exports to Europe will be stopped today

According to the report of the International Economic Group of Fars News Agency, citing TASS, the export of Russian gas to Europe is currently carried out only through a twin pipeline called Nord Stream 2. The Russian side announced that the gas flow of this pipeline will be stopped from today for 10 days for maintenance and repairs.
The Russians have said that they have already informed the European parties about this issue.
Last year, between July 13 and 23, the operation of this pipeline was stopped. The volume of transportation of this pipeline in 2021 was 1 billion 670 million cubic meters, but this year the conditions have changed for the Russians. for example; The non-arrival of the pressure boosting units of the German company Siemens, which have been stopped in Canada under the pretext of the Russian embargo, has forced Russia to reduce gas exports to Germany and Europe by 60%.
The reduction of Russian gas exports to Europe through this pipeline will disrupt the European Union’s plan to fill gas storage warehouses before the winter season arrives. Currently, 60% of the capacity of these storage warehouses is full, and Europe wants to increase it to 80% before winter arrives.
