Russia’s new plan to eliminate the dollar


According to the report of Fars News Agency’s International Economy reporter, citing Rashatudi, Russia has proposed the use of national currencies in trade exchanges between Eurasian countries in the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council.

According to the Russian plan, it is suggested that the member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union should use national currencies more in their trade exchanges to strengthen the presence of national currencies in their economic activities.

According to the document presented by the Russian government, the use of the national currencies of Kazakhstan, Armenian dram, and Kyrgyz soum, instead of the dollar, should be strengthened in trade between the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union.

Currently, 74% of trade between these countries is done in their national currencies, half of which is in Russian rubles.
