Ryzen 9 7945HX laptop processor on Geekbench – next to Intel flagships

Recently, the first benchmark of AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX flagship processor It has been seen on the Geekbench database. This 16-core and 32-thread processor is a laptop processor and is considered the flagship of Red Team’s Dragon Range processors. For comparison, the number of threads in this processor is the same as Intel’s flagship Raptor Lake HX processors, but the number of cores is less (16 vs. 24).

The Ryzen 9 7945HX processor is equipped with AMD’s most complete Zen 4 silicon, and both of its CCDs are active with 8 cores. The number of cores of this processor is twice that of the previous generation Rembrandt Zen 3 processors of the red team. AMD has also increased the frequency and TDP of its new generation processors, and the R9 7945HX processor reaches a maximum frequency of 5.4 GHz with a consumption of 55 watts, but its maximum energy consumption can be increased to 75 watts.
This processor was tested on a ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 laptop from Asus, which is an expensive gaming laptop with two screens. The memory used in this test was 32 GB of DDR5 memory with a speed of 4800 Mb/s.
On average, the Ryzen 9 7945HX scored 2061 single-core and 18685 multi-core scores on Geekbench. Of course, this score is an average score and the maximum scores of this processor in this test were 2127 and 19403, respectively. These scores place the R9 7945HX processor at the top of the single-core score chart of laptop processors on Geekbench, and its multi-core score is only a few percent lower than Intel’s flagship processor, the Core i9 13980HX.

In addition, the new generation of 16-core Ryzen 9 processors are significantly faster than the previous generation processors with up to 8 cores. The flagship processor of the previous generation, the 8-core Ryzen 9 6900HX processor, has almost half the processing power of the Ryzen 9 7945HX processor, which is also reasonable. However, keep in mind that the 16-core R9 7945HX has a performance close to the 12-core desktop R9 7900X, which is a 170-watt processor. But on the other hand, Geekbench is a short computing benchmark and doesn’t tell us everything about processors.
