Sadr’s statement about the events of the Iraqi Parliament; A golden opportunity has been obtained

According to the report of Fars International News Agency, Seyyed Moqtadi al-Sadr, the leader of Iraq’s Sadr movement, described the riotous presence of his supporters in the Iraqi parliament as a “peaceful revolution” and a “golden opportunity” this Sunday afternoon.
In his message, al-Sadr said, “The peaceful revolution that freed the Green Zone of Baghdad is a golden opportunity for all those who have been burned by the fire of oppression and terrorism, corruption, occupation and dependency.”
Al-Sadr said: All I wish is that the tragedy of losing the first golden opportunity of 2016 will not be repeated. Yes, this is another opportunity to eliminate the darkness, corruption, monopoly of power, dependence on foreign countries and sectarianism, which has been on the chest of Iraq since its occupation until today.
He considered the occupation of the Iraqi parliament “a great opportunity to fundamentally change the political system, constitution and elections” and said, “Elections that are changed for the benefit of the hidden government are free and healthy. But if it is healthy and removes the corrupt, they will say that it is fraudulent…”
The leader of the Sadr movement, without any reference to the negative effects of the rioters supporting this movement on the political future of Iraq, held the Iraqi nation responsible and claimed that “between a proud Iraq and a dependent Iraq, in which corrupt and follower people rule and are influenced by the East and the West have”, choose one.
Saying that “in that case, we should shed tears over the end of Iraq which is near”, Sadr claimed: Anyone who hears the call for reform and does not help it, is a prisoner of violence, militias, kidnapping, greed, threats, poverty and humiliation. will be.
He also asked the nomads and security forces to join his supporters, whom he called revolutionaries, and claimed: If you miss the opportunity, don’t blame me; Because I invite you to something that is good for you and the salvation of your country.
On Saturday (yesterday), following the intensification of unrest in Baghdad and the street protests of Iraqi Sadr movement supporters against the nomination of “Mohammed Shia al-Sudani” for the post of Prime Minister of Iraq by “Al-Attar al-Tansiqi” (Coordination Framework), a number of protesters entered Baghdad’s Green Zone. They became the Iraqi parliament building.
Political parties in Iraq were waiting for the parliamentary session to start the new political process on Saturday, but Sadr’s movement has again, in an illegal action, invited its supporters to demonstrations and the atmosphere in Baghdad has been tense and chaotic. Last Wednesday, these pro-Sadr protesters attacked the parliament building and damaged public property.
In addition to Guterres, the spokesperson for the foreign policy of the European Union issued a statement about the current developments in Iraq and called for the peace of all parties in Iraq.
“The European Union is concerned about the ongoing protests and their possible escalation in Baghdad,” the statement said. “We ask all sides to show patience to avoid further violence.”
