Samsung Display is probably preparing to produce a foldable iPhone display


Samsung Display, which is one of the main suppliers of Apple displays, has apparently made changes in the special team that it has to cooperate with the iPhone manufacturer, in order to increase its efficiency in the field of production of folding screens and reach the desired level of Cupertinos.

According to current reports, Samsung Display and LG Display have started working on projects for Apple’s foldable products, including 20.25-inch panels. Of course, it is not clear whether this screen size is related to a specific product or refers to the production process of a panel.

For several years, rumors about Apple’s work on folding products have been heard, and the company has registered various patents in this field. In September 2020, there were reports that Samsung had sent samples of its foldable panels to Apple for testing. But until now there was no solid report about Cupertino’s plan to use Samsung’s foldable panels.

Bloomberg claimed in 2021 that Apple had begun “early work” on a foldable iPhone, but at the time there didn’t appear to be any commitment to the device. The development process in 2021 did not go beyond the display department and the company did not make a prototype of the foldable iPhone.

Well-known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had previously said the company wanted to introduce a foldable iPhone in 2024, but he revised his prediction in 2022 to say the Cupertino is unlikely to arrive until 2025 or later. Offer folding mobile phones.
