New update for Galaxy S7 and S8

according to SamMobile report, the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge phones have received a new update with G93xFXXU8EVG3 firmware. It is worth noting that these phones were last updated in November 2020. After receiving its last official update in April 2021, the Galaxy S8 series has also received a new update this time with version G95xFXXUCDVG4.

Both of these updates fix the device’s GPS issue. Samsung has already released a GPS update for the Galaxy J7, which was launched seven years ago (2015). So, it seems that addressing this issue was important enough that Samsung even released an update for its discontinued devices.

As the website GalaxyClub notes, Samsung looks set to roll out similar updates to older phones in the future, including the 2015 flagship Galaxy S6 series as well as the Galaxy S9. Probably many old devices are still being used by users and that’s why Samsung is forced to fix their GPS problem with this update.

Finally, it should be noted that Samsung’s latest security patch is not available for older phones along with these updates.
