Samsung introduced a 360-degree foldable display

Samsung The prototype has shown off a new display that can hold phones folding lead to a new direction: a display with the ability to rotate 360 Degree.
Samsung Display, Samsung’s display manufacturing unit Prototype of the new display and hinge exhibited at CES 2023. Company spokesman John Lucas explained the product can rotate 360 degrees, meaning it can be folded inward and outward.
In addition, the display comes with a different hinge design that apparently creates less creases and also puts less pressure on the display. Previous foldable displays, when folded inward, created a looser shape (like a water drop) in the center.
This is not the first time that Samsung has shown off a prototype ‘Flex In & Out’ display with a 360-degree folding design. In 2021, the company also showcased a Flex In & Out display at South Korea’s International Conference on Information Display (IMID). However, its approach was different and folded like the letter “S”.
Until the Galaxy Z Fold 4, which launches in August 2022, Samsung’s foldable devices continue to use displays that only fold in one direction.
Using the new screen in the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5?

This new screen may be used in the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5. Recently, a report said that this device could have less creasing thanks to its new hinge design.
This design can correct the problem of the U-shaped hinge of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4, which creates a prominent crease in it. It also makes the Galaxy Z Fold 5 more similar to its foldable rivals, such as the Oppo Find N2 and the third-generation Motorola Razr.
It is not yet known when Samsung will announce the Z Fold 5, but it is expected that the device will be unveiled in August at the same time as the Z Flip 5.
