Samsung is preparing to release a foldable tablet by Apple in 2024

While companies like Samsung are investing heavily in foldable devices, Apple has yet to introduce any products in the category. Although there is no indication that the Cupertino giant plans to introduce a foldable phone anytime soon, Samsung is reportedly expecting Apple to introduce a foldable tablet by 2024.

Amid the controversy, representatives of the Korean tech giant have said they expect Apple to introduce its first foldable device within the next two years.

The interesting thing is that this report says that, at least according to Samsung’s prediction, Apple’s first foldable device will not be a phone, but the Cupertino giant will enter this segment with a foldable tablet or laptop.

CCS Insight also confirmed these rumors in a report shared last month. The research firm claimed that releasing a foldable iPhone at this stage was too risky and it would make more sense for Apple to use the technology in a new iPad. It is not yet clear how much this product will cost, but analysts believe that Apple’s foldable device may hit the market for $2,500.

Samsung hopes for the future of the folding products market

Samsung also announced in its meeting with investors that the foldable phone market is expected to grow by 80% by 2025. The tech giant also said that 90 percent of foldable phone users are convinced to buy another foldable device in the future.

Earlier this year, a Samsung executive confirmed that around 10 million foldable phones are expected to ship in 2021. Although this number is small compared to the entire smartphone market, the foldable phone category has grown by more than 300% since 2020. Currently, more than 70% of this market is captured by Samsung’s foldable devices, the Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip.
