Satellite communication will be added to Google Messages soon. Satellite calling will be one of the new features of Android 14.

iPhone 14 family phones are the only phones on the market that support satellite connection; But now Google is looking to work on providing such capabilities with its own Android 14. The American giant of the technology world has recently been seen working on the elements of the user interface of the conversation on the satellite platform in the messaging application Google Messages. Of course, Google will develop this feature exclusively for its own application.

Is Android 14 ready for satellite communication of phones?

One of the users of social network X (formerly Twitter), named Neil Rahmouni, is the first to discover images of satellite communication in Google Messages, but says that this feature is still out of reach for users. Thus, Google Messenger is the only Android app available that works on satellite connection support.

Of course, this method is not supposed to replace SIM card communication. In fact, it could be something similar to the iPhone 14’s emergency messaging feature, which according to various reports has helped save many lives.

When satellite connection support comes to the Android platform, you can use the Google Messenger app to send emergency messages over satellite communication. It is not yet clear whether Google will only use this messenger for satellite communications or if it will develop a separate application as well. And we don’t know if Google API will make this connection available to developers so that we can see such a feature in other messengers.

Do not forget that only Android 14 is not enough to use such a feature. First, your phone’s hardware must support satellite communication, which currently many phones on the market lack. In addition, currently in some countries like Iran, satellite internet is coming to Iraq, we are still involved in filtering.
