Saudi Arabia has launched a virtual space to visit the Kaaba in Metawars


Saudi officials have designed a simulated environment to visit part of the Kaaba and intend to make it available to the public.

To Report “The New Arab”, Saudi Arabia last week, in a new plan, somehow introduced the holiest place of the religion of Islam into the atmosphere of Metavars. With this plan, Muslims can see the black stone installed on the wall of the Kaaba virtually in their black stone houses.

According to the official Facebook account of the two shrines, which is responsible for overseeing the affairs of the Kaaba, the “virtual black stone project” allows Muslims to “watch the black stone virtually before visiting Mecca.” The shrines of Mecca and Medina, especially the two holy mosques that are located in these cities.

Abdul Rahman al-Sadis, chairman of the mosques’ management committee, inaugurated the project on Monday. The section managed by Al-Sadis is separate from the two holy organizations; But it works with it. The Saudi Organization for Museums and Exhibitions, in collaboration with Umm al-Qura University, has implemented the project.

At the opening of the program, Al-Sadis said they were looking for a simulation that would not only engage the viewer’s eyesight and hearing, but also their sense of touch and smell. He explained that the mosques of Mecca and Medina are a kind of historical and Islamic heritage, so everyone should have access to it digitally.

Several other academic and government officials also attended the inauguration of the project. Among these people, we can mention the Turkic Ben-Suleiman al-Amro. He is the president of Umm al-Qura University and has been involved in creating the virtual Black Stone project.

It is not yet clear how and when the general public will be able to access this virtual reality technology.
