Saudi Arabia: We are looking for nuclear fuel production

According to the report of the International Economic Group of Fars News Agency, Abdulaziz bin Salman, the Minister of Energy of Saudi Arabia, announced that his country is looking for the production of nuclear fuel for domestic use and export.
In his speech at the International Mining Conference in Riyadh on Wednesday, he emphasized that Saudi Arabia has launched a nuclear energy program for peaceful use and reducing carbon emissions, and is seeking to achieve leadership in the regional clean energy market.
Bin Salman said: We are looking to build nuclear reactors to produce electricity, and there is a plan to build two reactors in order to know this technology before its development.
The Minister of Energy of Saudi Arabia stated that his country benefits from modern exploration activities and said: Uranium mines have been discovered in different geographical areas inside Saudi Arabia, including Jabal Said in Madinah Munura and Jabal Quriya in the north of this country.
The UAE has already started producing electricity from the Barka power plant, and its four reactors will provide about a quarter of the country’s electricity needs after completion. Egypt is also building the Al-Dabaa nuclear power plant with a production capacity of 4800 megawatts and a cost of 20 billion dollars.
