This news was announced at the same time that the Saudi Foreign Minister met with his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amirabdollahian on Friday on the sidelines of the BRICS ministerial meeting in South Africa.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia also announced on Twitter: “In this meeting, ways to strengthen bilateral relations in many fields and follow up on measures to implement the agreement between the two countries in Beijing, including the continuation of bilateral work to ensure the achievement of international peace and security, were discussed.” And it was investigated.”

On the other hand, after meeting with his Saudi counterpart in South Africa, Iran’s foreign minister expressed his satisfaction with the good progress made in bilateral relations.

Amir Abdullahian added: Fortunately, the ambassadors of the two countries were appointed and mutually introduced, and the ground is ready for the opening of embassies and consulates.

Amir Abdollahian thanked and appreciated the facilities and good arrangements provided by Saudi Arabia for the journey of Iranian pilgrims in order to perform Hajj Tamattu.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran added: In the previous talks, we talked about the necessity of strengthening the commercial and economic relations between the two countries, and your Excellency’s upcoming visit to Tehran will be an opportunity for further discussion and exchange of views in order to strengthen bilateral relations in various fields.

Amir Abdollahian also considered BRICS as a new opportunity for multilateral cooperation between Iran and Saudi Arabia and other member countries of this group, especially in economic and commercial fields.

Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan also expressed his satisfaction with the very good progress made in bilateral relations during this meeting.

He thanked the Iranian side for their valuable assistance in welcoming the Saudi technical delegation in order to lay the groundwork for the opening of the Saudi embassy and consulate general in Iran, and added that with the very good cooperation of the two sides, we quickly passed the stages of appointing ambassadors and laying the groundwork for the opening of political and consular missions. We are moving towards a new stage of relations between the two countries, which will provide the interests of the two nations and the entire region.

Saudi Foreign Minister emphasized that he will visit Tehran soon in response to the invitation. In this meeting, the parties exchanged warm greetings of the heads of the two countries.
