Saudi Foreign Minister: Negotiations with Iran are positive / Oil production was not discussed at the Jeddah meeting

According to Fars News Agency, Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan said that the Jeddah summit focused on partnership with America.

Bin Farhan said that Saudi Arabia’s hand is still extended towards Iran and we want to establish normal relations with this country.

The Saudi Foreign Minister added that the negotiations with Iran are positive, but the goal has not yet been reached and we hope to see developments in the future.

He said that Iraq participates in facilitating dialogue between Riyadh and Tehran.

Ben Farhan clarified that diplomatic solutions are the best and only way to interact with Iran.

The Saudi Foreign Minister said: Returning to the JCPOA would be a good thing, we are not present in the JCPOA negotiations and we support the diplomatic process to resolve Iran’s nuclear program.

He emphasized that there is a lot of coordination between us and the US government regarding Iran’s nuclear program.

He said that there was no discussion about defense cooperation between the member states of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council and Israel.

He emphasized that the partnership with America is old and still is and will remain.

According to Al Jazeera, Bin Farhan stated that we emphasized to US President Joe Biden that we took decisions against the perpetrators of Jamal Khashoggi’s murder, we punished Khashoggi’s murderers, and this has also happened in America.

He said that the issue of military or technical cooperation with Israel was never discussed at the Jeddah summit or before.

Bin Farhan also said that there is no such thing as Arab NATO, and I don’t know where this name came from, and this issue was not raised at the Jeddah Summit.

The Saudi Foreign Minister also said about oil production that oil production was not specifically discussed at the Jeddah Summit, and oil production was not among the topics discussed at the Jeddah Security and Development Summit, and that OPEC+ has a system to monitor the markets and ensure the supply of energy they need. .

OPEC+ will continue to evaluate the market situation and take necessary measures, and we are in full-time dialogue with Washington in this regard, as the daily production of 13 million barrels of oil is the maximum production capacity that Saudi Arabia will reach.

The Saudi Foreign Minister emphasized that the most important point in the Jeddah Summit is the participation of countries in developing global programs to protect the interests of these countries.

He said: “Airplanes from all countries of the world will be allowed to fly over the skies of Saudi Arabia as long as they follow the rules, and opening the airspace has nothing to do with establishing diplomatic relations with Israel, and it is not even a prelude to other steps.”

Bin Farhan also said about Yemen: The Houthis must understand that the interests of Yemen are in establishing a permanent ceasefire and establishing peace.
